Problems Possible cause and remedy
1. The screen is too bright or too dark. • Adjust using [Brightness] or [Contrast] in [Color] menu.
(The LCD monitor backlight has a xed life span. When
the screen becomes dark or begins to icker, contact
your local dealer.)
• Select “Standard” or “High” in [Color] - [Advanced
Settings] menu - [Auto EcoView]. (Refer to page 29.)
The monitor adjusts the screen brightness automatically
according to the environmental brightness and displayed
image brightness.
2. Afterimages appear. • Use a screen saver, PowerManager, or the Off Timer
function for a long-time image display.
• Afterimages are particular to LCD monitors. Avoid
displaying the same image for a long time.
3. Green/red/blue/white dots or defective dots remain
on the screen.
• This is due to LCD panel characteristics and is not a
failure.
4. Interference patterns or pressure marks remain on
the screen.
• Leave the monitor with a white or black screen. The
symptom may disappear.
5. Noise appears on the screen. • When utilizing [ContrastEnhancer] and/or
[OutlineEnhancer] function, the normal images may not
be displayed since the display gradation abnormality or
noise may occur on the screen depending on the display
pattern.
6. Characters are pigmentized. • When [OutlineEnhancer] is set excessively, the
characters on the screen may be affected by color.
7. No sound/Volume control is not available. • Check whether the audio cable is connected properly.
• Check whether a headphone is connected to the
headphone jack.
• Adjust the sound volume.
8. Sound volume varies depending on the device
connected.
• Adjust the volume difference between the connected
devices in [Monitor Settings] - [Advanced Settings] menu
- [Sound Level]. (Refer to page 34.)
9. The monitor turns off suddenly. • Check whether the Off Timer function is set. Check the
Off Timer setting. (Refer to page 37.)
• Check whether the power off functions are enabled in
[PowerManager] menu. Please check each setting.
(Refer to page 35.)
